2.How much is in the fund?—About $10000 (there are two accounts PayPal and the fund bank account I don’t have the exact figure at the writing of this) $3000 from the Walk, $3000 donated by SD Holman to seed the fund, and $3900 was raised by the bowling fundraiser Balls to the Wall (Sept 2010).

3. How much did the walk cost?—About $10,000

4. Who paid for the walk for love?—Shaira did, out of her own pocket.

5. Where does my money go if I donate to the fund?—90% percent of any $ goes directly to the fund recipients, 10% percent will be used for administration

6. How much of the fund was used to pay for the walk for love?—$0. Shaira paid for it.

7. Has anybody been paid with donations from the fund?—No

8.Will someone be paid to administer the fund in the future?—Yes, we would like to have a professional administrator

9. Will the fund money be funding Shaira’s trip to Haiti?—No, Shaira will be paying for that herself.

10.Who administers the fund?—A committee has been formed with people from Catherine’s work and myself

11.Who is the Fund for?—I would like the fund to go to individuals: poor GLBTIQ folks. we are looking into how that can be administered; The Vancouver foundation does not support giving money to individuals, so I don’t want it to go through them. We are looking at the possibility of running it through the Pride in Art Society and what that would/could look like.

Other questions to be answered, as we are able to.

How can I apply?—There will be a (very) simple application process

When can I apply for the fund?—-I’m thinking once a year, with the possibility for an emergency fund for anytime?

How much is the grant for? Hoping to launch the fund in 2011, depending on Legalities of course.—I’m thinking around $500

How can I get involved?—Private message us here

Who can apply for the grant?—we are working on that

What can I use the grant for?—I would like that to be as open as possible, again we are looking into the legalities of this.

how do you decide who receives the grant?
