Self-portrait. participant observer. I’m not appropriating pictures of freaks; I am one. There is no deception of being objective. Instead I expose my authoring of these images to reveal the complex and contradictory layers of truth and history. Overlaying the incongruity of text, claiming that what women need is a good dress, a fifties transsexual novel cover, and me in drag juxtaposing this, not looking very much like dresses would do at all. |
