Route
May 3rd update, the goggle map is not working too well. So the best way to find out where Shaira is, is on the travelogue page.

On April 1st, I will start off on Highway 7 from Vancouver to Hope and then take the 3/3b from Hope to Medicine Hat. Then Highway #1 From Medicine Hat to Thunder Bay (the #1 turns into 17 in Ontario). And then I’d like to hitchhike a ride on a boat to Wassga Beach or there abouts. I will continue walking on the ship. Then it gets a little muddy… I’ll hook into the 27 to TO, and then walk in to TO. After that I plan to walk on to St Catharines, Ontario.
The map below shows the current segment of the walk. Google Maps splits it up into separate maps, and we can’t show more than one map on this page (Google gets grumpy with multiple map calls), so if you want to see another part of the route, please click the links below.

Hi Shaira: I commend your commitment to keeping Catherine’s memory alive. I grieve at your loss and hope that you can find some small comfort in the support, love and admiration from so many. While I did not know your loved one very well ( I think we met once or twice), I know that she loved you and that you will do her proud with your walk. Walk proud. Walk strong. Walk with dignity. They will be your companions along this route.
I wish you peace, joy and eventual happiness.
All the best in your journey

Shaira:
Your courage to heal and go forward one step at a time is healing to all of us who miss your angel. Catherine was one very special angel to all while she did her marvelous work. Your pride and admittance of the hard parts of the journey is a testament to all Catherine did in her life and is continuing to do through you !
Peace, health, good weather and the best on each day of your healing journey!

I have cried with you Shaira, reading this.
Catherine helped save me, and I miss her too.

From the state of New Jersey here in the U.S. I send you a hug and a simle too. May this journey bring your soul, heart and spirit some rest, peace and healing.
In the memory of Catherine;
You are a beautiful woman
An angel sent from above
Healer to the broken
Comforter to the lonely
An advocate to the oppressed
And now you find yourself in a different place
A place where all are equal, love and bless
Let history proclaim the walk you took the fight you fought and the love you share
You are a beautiful woman
Thank you
Hi Shaira,
My name is Michael Schafer and my sister Cindy Schafer and her husband, Bruce Haskitt, were also on “the plane”. I totally understand what you are going through and you have my deepest sympathies. It just so happens that my family lives in St. Catharines. We would love to meet up with you when you arrive. Best of luck with the walk. We will be watching closely!
Michael
Hello Michael, thank you for watching and writing, and you have my deepest sympathies, I hope you have lots of love looking after you and your family, I am so sorry for your loss. If I get as far as St Catharines it would be an honour to meet up.
Thanks for your article. I also feel that laptop computers are becoming more and more popular lately, and now in many cases are the only kind of computer found in a household. The reason being at the same time they are becoming more and more economical, their computing power is growing to the point where they can be as highly effective as desktop computers coming from just a few years ago.
I am the first time on this site and am really enthusiastic about and so many good articles. I think it’s just very good. .Always yours Mr. Cialis
